painting outdoors and the important lesson

On my last trip to Italy, I did something new—I brought along my sketchbook and art supplies. It was the first time I’d decided to paint while traveling, and I was both excited and curious about how it would go.

One of the places I visited was “Limone sul Garda”, a small town nestled along the shores of Lake Garda. The landscape immediately captured my heart—the lake shimmered with shades of blue and green, the mountains surrounded the lake, and in the distance, I could see little houses with orange roofs that added a charming touch to the scenery.

I decided to paint this view using watercolors. As I sat there, with the warm sun on my skin and the gentle breeze around me, I felt an overwhelming sense of calm. The world seemed to slow down, and I became completely absorbed in the moment.

Even though I’m not entirely satisfied with how the painting turned out, I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. It reminded me that sometimes, the value of creating art isn’t in the final product but in the process itself—the joy, the relaxation, and the memories it brings.

For those who also enjoy painting outdoors, I encourage you not to focus too much on perfection. Instead, allow yourself to truly experience the beauty around you. Let your art be a reflection of that moment in time.
